Right after the Friday Church service, we adjourned to Bodega StreetFood for lunch. Had we scoured for a good eat-out?

I quick glanced at the full crowd of the outdoor area. Smoke smell of some hot relish dishes were so inexplicably good as we walked near to the outlet. All but from the adjacent restaurant – Dampa Seafood restaurant.

Bodega StreetFood as a solo spot  in Port Saeed, Deira, Dubai specializes in American/Asian streetstyled foods. Place your order at the counter/kitchen area, and the attendant will deliver the food to your table. The outlet  has two floors with fine dim light interiors. The wooden chairs were comfortable with proper tables. There played a smooth upbeat music as I observed the second floor was diner-less. Upon glancing on the menu, I was expecting a lot more dishes. They only have few mains, few sides and that’s it.

We had The Airmax, The Booty, Glazed Chicken Wings with fries. It was also suggested that Vietnamese Pho tastes good and with no hint apart I knew it’s a Vietnamese dish so I requested for it. While we waited for foods to be served, the attendant tapped down on our table placemats that I found simple but innovative!  Look!

The Airmax was quite spicy and reasonably good. The bbq-ed chicken wings were the best food item because we nailed the fries! Kidding aside, the wings were quite juicy with proper blend of spices which made it a must try!

The Pho came a hot topic as we clung on to enjoy foods served!

What the PHO?!

Let’s get right to the Vietnamese Beef Pho Recipe. It is a Vietnamese Beef Noodle Soup, or Pho. The dish is pronounced “fuh” and not “foo” or “foe” or “puh”. Yeah, Pho is cheap eat out. Fresh mint, cilantro, basil, bean sprouts, sliced chili peppers are just some of its accompaniments. Much to this and moving on..

Everything was served on reasonable time and attendant was decent and attentive.  All items on the “Street Menu” comes with Java rice and unlimited carbonated drinks. As a whole, I was expecting for a more uniquely enhanced streetfoodies such as Squid Balls, Chicken Balls, Fish Balls, Kikiam, Hot Dog, Salted Peanuts, Kwek Kwek, Quail Egg, Pork BBQ, Tokwa and Isaw,  that are prepared in a more scrumptious way!

Ambiance: 5/10
Price: 5/10
Food: 5/10
Verdict : I came, I tried, I’m looking for really more authentic!
